
THEATRE INFORMATION
LABOR: The Sturges Center for the Fine Arts is a non-union facility. The Center has a minimal full time salaried staff consisting of the General Manager/Theatre Manager/Technical Director. Some or all of these personnel are required whenever the theater is reserved, regardless of any union or other personnel required by the center. Additional staffing is available from a pool of qualified, trained, hourly employees who are familiar with our equipment and facility. All labor arrangements are made through the General Manager/Theatre Manager/Technical Director. All work performed by stage hands is at the users expense.
SEATING & CAPACITIES: The maximum capacity of The Sturges Center for the Fine Arts is 743 seats.
Orchestra level: 522 + wheelchair spaces
Balcony: 221
STAGE FLOOR: A resiliently-mounted tongue & groove subfloor is covered with 1/8" tempered masonite and is painted with raw umber. Contact Technical Director for specifications.
LOADING DOORS: Located directly behind the theater, the loading doors are 12" above ground level, and can accomodate one trailer (or container). There is access to the stage through 11'9"H x 5'5"W doors. There is no forklift available.
HEARING & VISUALLY IMPAIRED: The Center is not equipped for the hearing & visually impaired.
DRESSING ROOMS: There are a total of two dressing rooms available. All are located below the stage. Each dressing room has audio production monitors with paging override availability, mirrors, and can accommodate 10-15 people.
